Community in Covington, Louisiana, Cleans Up After Ida

Storm Ida made landfall as a Category 4 hurricane in coastal Louisiana on Sunday, August 29, bringing maximum sustained winds of 150 mph, the National Hurricane Center said.

Louisiana residents spent Monday morning surveying the damage and working to clear roads of debris and trees.

Covington resident Kalisa recorded video of her community working together to clear two large pine trees that fell during the storm. “Miraculously,” she told Storyful, no one in her community was hurt, but the street was without power on Monday.
